Visitors come to Hawaii anticipating a special experience. They?ve heard of the Islands? famous Aloha Spirit. They are looking for that magic experience. Island companies work hard to deliver it. For the past twelve years the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau has honored those who do with their annual ?Keep It Hawaii? awards program. The award recipients, selected by cultural specialists, receive a carved wooden kahili depicting the tall feather standards that once announced the arrival of royalty in the islands. Watch for the carved award standard or Keep It Hawaii award signs proudly displayed by Island companies.

For the HVCB Hawaii Travel Planner call (800) GO-HAWAII (464-2924) or visit www.gohawaii.com for a complete list of the award recipients.

The real winners in this awards program are the visitors who come to enjoy the best Hawaii has to offer. When the best of each of eighteen categories has been selected, the judges come together again to select the ?best of the best.? Receiving the award for programs as well, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park - After Dark in the Park program was selected for their excellent evening events in the National Park setting. For 13 years the programs have informed and entertained thousands of visitors with tales of whales and snails, reefs and forests, caves and mountain tops. Presented by cultural specialists, artists, musicians, scientists, and Pacific islanders, the magical evenings expand vistas, fire imaginations and keep the art of storytelling alive. For a schedule of upcoming presentations or to make special event arrangements contact the Division of Interpretation, 808-985-6014.

The facility has easy access for after-hours special events. 808-523-6151.

Resolved Question: My mom is she wrong or annoying in your opinion?

I know a lo of answer will be that "because SHE LOVE you", Yes I exactly know about this but this is not the point to let me accept every argument that happened. My mom is very sticky about money, she is way to sticky if considering from our family's income. She always don't want to buy any superior thing such as a leisure furniture or dinning table. My house are so mess-up because she always take the furniture, kitchen shelve, computer table, chairs or bed. We don't have a proper good room for each satisfaction, my house all over with a lot of chairs and broken furniture. She like to collect every single things her relative throwing away. - She never will go to any outside restaurant to eat, because she never going to enjoy it if it's expensive and uncomfortable but what I see is to have a good time with family and she refuse. - I didn't buy a lot of cloth and shoes, one year is like 2-3 time. Because my mom doesn't want to give me money to shopping. - When I want to ask more money that's when we start fight and she will come up with every stress she and my daddy has in life. (It's not actually that stress) example: I ask for 20 buck for dinner or weekend hangout. she will say like "Don't you know i'm dying because of you?, your dad has too much job and bills to handle" and keep talking blah blah blah.......... I was angry at her that why is it necessary to very sticky and emotional about money, I told her if you don't want give me, just don't but don't sarcastic or pity yourself in a lot of way. - I always angry at her when she pay my internet bills late, and she always said that again "I'm going to die, a lot of expense" It's was like 3 months late always. - She though spending everything is waste of money - i'm 21 year old and never go travel abroad because she won't give me a chance. My family has moderate income, I has Macbook, iPad, iPod, iPhone, PS3, Flat TV, PSP, We are not poor but she is too sticky and my dad say this too. What do you think about my opinion of her and am I wrong? GUYS, I graduate this year and I want to rent a house so bad, I stay because she want me. When i told her that I want rent house outside. She say "no, don't go". I want to get a job so bad.

Resolved Question: Help me choose between 2 unrelated cars!?

I live in Malaysia and planning on purchasing a small, fuel efficient yet head-turning car for city travelling and going to and from campus also leisure. 1) A brand new 2012 Toyota Prius-C @ USD$ 32,180 2) A used 2004 Smart Roadster @ USD$ 25,000 Before you guys get shocked, cars in Malaysia are highly priced but a new hybrid for 32,180 is quite cheap here. the Honda Fit Petrol is much expensive. The reason for the Prius-C: -Brand New | -Highly advance in technology | -Small enough for easy travels | -Fuel Economy | -Prius is considered a rich-mans toy The reasons for Smart Roadster: -Car i dreamt of owning and driving since young | -Very Fuel efficient | -Rare and headturning yet easily serviced | -I love and had dreamt to own a convertible/cabrio. I'm not a family man, still studying. I like to travel to neighboring cities (about 35km away), I enjoy laid back cruise around neighborhood. I like some fashion-sense. I currently drive a 2010 CR-V which is not fuel-saving. I like to own something not common on roads e.g Smart Roadster/Prius-C. Please help with the decision!

Resolved Question: Please help with traveling to West USA?

for a female traveling so from East coast and doesn't drive at all want to spent up to 2 weeks so here my plan. Tell me if it makes sense. Flying from JFK to LAX. Staying at uncle's house in Santa Monica for 2-3 days, going back to L.A. staying in downtown hotel. Will 5 days be enough for moderate pace thorough exploration? City tour, local trips to San Diego, Hollywood, Universal Studio (have been to Disney World so not interested in Disney land I guess), Santa Barbara. What else? Next, boarding an Amtrak to S. Francisco. If it is a long trip, I would prefer a sleeping car. In SF, staying for 3 days, with local trips. Next, boarding an Amtrak to Oregon. Or Seattle. Maybe going an organized tour. Is it worth to use railroad or to to fly between LA/SF/Portland? Or maybe it is enough to travel within California only. I would hate to come back home tired. I would rather have to combine Leisure and touring. What are suggestions? I want help from someone who took the same or similar route. I don't want to go to Nevada or Arizona (been there) It is gonna cost $$, but I am willing to do so. Many thanks Oh, and I never traveled alone. Again, I don't drive. and I can't sustain prolonged sitting and walking due to old trauma so maybe I should take an organised tours LA-SF and had it taken care of?
